Jolla, the new Finnish phone coming to India soon, powering Sailfish OS.....
Yet another Finnish company after Nokia to make their entry to Indian market. Yes get ready for the new Finnish mobile manufacturer Jolla- "We are Unlike", they have signed an exclusive deal with the online shopping website www.snapdeal.com to introduce their smartphone in the Indian markets. Jolla, the company name, means dinghy (a small agile boat) in Finnish.
Jolla smartphone runs on its own operati ng software (OS), called Sailfish, Sailfish is a mobile operating system combining the Linux kernel with mer, which is an offshoot of the MeeGo software that used to be found on old Nokia phones. But good news is that, the platform does work with existing Android smartphones and tablets, and Jolla claims it is a more secure OS for those seeking privacy. Jolla has also altered the OS to make it as 'gesture-sensitive' as possible.
Under the hood it is powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 400, Dual-Core 1.4Ghz Krait 200 and Adreno 305 Graphics with 1 GB RAM. Operating on Sailfish v1 which is upgradable to v1.0.5. Jolla will be featuring IPS LCD Capacitive touch screen display, 16M colors and corning gorilla glass 2. The screen size will be 4.5inch with 245ppi pixel density. Storage features 16GB in-built memory which is expandable upto 64GB with Micro SD card.For faster communication its also faetures 3G HSDPA 850/900/1900/2100 and 4G LTE other that 2G. For capturing your moments an 8MP, 3264 x 2448 pixels, auto-focus, LED flash with Full HD1080p video recording camera is provided as primary and 2MP as secondary camera.�
And for the smooth it is powered by a Li-Ion 2100 mAh (7.98Wh) battery. Coming to price the new Jolla smartphone is expected in price range from INR 25000-30000. There are no navigation buttons on the Jolla phon e, so taps, swipes, and various other gestures on the touchscreen are used to navigate the phone. But official launch on snapdeal i not yet declared.
